PLEASE NOTE:

(1) All speakers listed above are confirmed.

(2) The conference will take place in presence only, and only if this format is possible; should the pandemic situation make this not possible at the expected dates, the conference will be postponed.

(3) The social distancing rules can cause a maximal number of people is allowed into the conference room; this number can vary depending on the epidemic situation. Those interested in participation (other than invited speakers) should contact the organizer about this.

(4) The running of the conference will strictly follow all the covid-related regulations and limitations. At present (April 20), these would include the requirement of a valid vaccination certificate to access the conference room.




The conference will take place at the Hotel "Camere del Re" in Tarquinia. Invited speakers will be lodged there.
Participants are of course free to lodge anywhere. See the site "Tarquiniaturismo" for further info.

Note that hotel booking should be made individually by invited speakers, not later than March 31.

Monday 16 - Thursday 19: full conference days;
Friday 20 may: conference will end at lunch time.

Detailed program will be announced in due time.

General scheme:
Morning: invited talks, about 50' + 10' each.
Afternoon: contributed talks and
                  discussion on the morning's talks.

To reach Tarquinia from abroad, we suggest to fly to Roma-Fiumicino airport. You will then be able to reach Traquinia by frequent regional train service changing in Roma-Trastevere (note: you do NOT have to use the express "Leonardo" train to Roma Termini, as this does not stop in Trastevere), see schedule on the trenitalia.com website. Tarquinia train station is NOT  at walking distance from the city center; you will need a bus or taxi. Bus schedule will be posted here in spring; moreover the organizers and the Hotel will be happy to arrange transportation for you if required.



Surroundings

Beside the interest of Tarquinia per se - seaside, medieval town and etruscan remains - and the possibility to easily reach Rome by train, the area has many interesting nearby (less than 1 hour drive) places which may be of interest to accompanying persons. Many of these easily reached also by public transportation (see Trenitalia and Cotral web sites), albeit having a car would be an advantage.
